Bikeability Edinburgh’s Year – 2015
Since January Chris and Sean have been busy providing Cycle Mentoring to several schools in East Edinburgh for Edinburgh Council’s Active School’s teams. We have also organised a large Bikeability programme for George Watson’s College.
As well as mentoring and delivering in school and on road training, we have been training many more adults as Cycle Training Assistants (a nationally recognised and approved qualification) so they can deliver Bikeability (Level 1 & 2) courses.
If you are interested in qualifying as a Bikeability instructor – get in touch!
Bikeability Edinburgh provide the highest quality cycle training available in the Edinburgh area.
Cycling Scotland have recently asked Bikeability Edinburgh to deliver their new ESSENTIAL CYCLING SKILLS courses. We are happy to do so.
These courses will last 2-3 hours and teach you all the skills you need for a safe and confident commute to work. They will cost £20 per person per session.
If you are interested in this course, please use the CONTACT US page, and we will try to organise a convenient group session.
Check your Bike!
Don’t know how to make sure your favourite mode of transport is safe to ride? We teach the “M” check on all our bikeability and commuter courses. Watch this British Cycling video to learn what to do:
Summer holiday cycling 2014
We worked with 55 kids over the school holidays in 2014, many of whom were on stabilisers but are now fully fledged cyclists! We also had two non cycling adult customers, both of whom were cycling after less than an hour with us.
Even more came to us during the 2015 Easter holidays. We even had customers from as far away as London! (we suspect they may have been here on holiday anyway)
Our Summer programme for 2015 has now finished, and was our most successful holiday cycling programme yet.
Based on Bikeability Scotland skills and competences, we can run fun filled cycle training sessions for all ages and levels in East Edinburgh. Please contact us if you would like more information or to ask about us running a session run in your local area.
Not only do these sessions represent excellent value for money, they are an ideal way to improve your child’s cycling skills and confidence (whether or not they do Bikeability in school) or maybe even turn your non cycling child into a cyclist!
Primarily for pre school & primary kids.
Non cyclist? Learn to ride with us
‘wobbly’ or young cyclist? Become a better and more confident cyclist with our bespoke skill sessions and games!
Primarily for primary kids who have not done (or done enough) Bikeability in school.
Especially useful for young cyclists who are competent enough but lack confidence or those who have more tricks than sense! However, all ages of cyclists welcome.
Half day excursions.
For P5 – S1 kids who have shown a good level of skill and sensibility on our ‘improver’ sessions or anyone who wants to improve their journey making skills and road sense and confidence, including adults! Mostly off road on Edinburgh’s cycle network, but introducing Bikeability level 2 & 3 road skills
Beginners and Improver open sessions are £20.00 per child per session (normally 2 hours)
Private tuition can be arranged from £25 per hour
